Business Health Assessment

Promoting a safe and compliant workplace.

As Employers we know we have a responsibility to protect and support the health and wellbeing of our staff. We know that companies that work with staff to develop approaches that invest in the health and wellbeing of their staff see higher rates of retention, reduced sickness absence and increased productivity.

What is our Business Health Assessment?

A Business Health Assessment enables employers to ensure they are fulfilling their statutory ‘duty of care’ requirements to maintain the health, safety and wellbeing of their staff.

Our Specialist Occupational Health Practitioners will come to your business and gather information from you (the employer) and your employees.

 This will include:

  • Observing the work environment and meeting with key personnel

  • Analysing job roles and determining the need for fitness criteria

  • Identifying potential health risks/hazard exposure

  • Collecting data for rates and reasons for absence

  • Accident/incident rates

  • A ‘Workplace Wellbeing’ audit

A comprehensive report will be provided, identifying the occupational health needs of your business and ensuring a safe, compliant, proactive, and cost-effective approach to supporting your workforce.

How will a Business Health Assessment benefit my business?

All employers have a legal duty of care to safeguard the health and safety of their staff — and we’re here to support you in meeting that responsibility. Employees are an organisation’s greatest asset, and by investing in their health and wellbeing, both employers and employees can gain measurable, long-term benefits.

Our Business Health Assessment provides real-time insight into the specific health challenges facing your organisation. As your occupational health partner, our specialists deliver bespoke recommendations to help you meet statutory and industry requirements — while also identifying any areas of non-compliance.

By working in partnership with you, OH One can determine the most effective type and level of occupational health services to benefit your organisation now and into the future.

Is a BHA a mandatory requirement?

While not mandatory, this offers a valuable opportunity to accurately identify your organisation’s occupational health needs — enabling a proactive, cost-effective strategy that protects your people and strengthens your business.

How often do I need a BHA?

At the start of your partnership with OH One. It would also be recommended on an annual basis to review any changes within the business and identify service improvements.

How long does a BHA take?

The Business Health Assessment typically involves a one-day on-site visit, following the completion of a short pre-visit questionnaire by your team. To ensure maximum value, we kindly request introductions to key stakeholders on the day — allowing us to tailor our recommendations and align with your organisation’s goals from the outset.

Following the on-site visit, our team will carefully analyse the findings and provide you with a detailed, tailored report within a few working days. This ensures you receive clear, actionable insights to inform your workplace health strategy.

What can we expect to receive from OH One?

Following the on-site visit, we will analyse the data and provide a comprehensive report within a few working days. This report will outline your current compliance status and include bespoke recommendations to support improvement and align with statutory and industry standards — giving you a clear foundation for proactive workplace health planning.

We’re looking forward to working with you.
