Occupational Health Assessments
Supporting employees through absence and
managing health issues in work
What is Case Management?
A case management referral is used to offer support when health related issues are impacting on an employee’s work. This is often when an employee is absent due to their health, or their safety is being compromised by their work role.
One of our Specialist Occupational Health Advisors or Occupational Health Physicians will complete a comprehensive assessment with the employee. We will then provide a comprehensive report for the employer, which includes information about their job role and work environment and fitness to work.
Telephone and video consultations provide cost effective and convenient options for employers. Alternatively, we can offer an Onsite service to complete the assessment face-to-face.
How does it work?
Commonly, employers use Case Management to reduce overall length of absence, ensuring they have provided comprehensive support as an employer, and also fulfilled their legal requirements.
Why case management?
Provide an opinion on time frame and fitness for a return to work.
Professional health focused information, advice, and support for employee.
Advice regarding adjustments to assist a return to work.
Guidance for managers to assist employees.
What does it involve?
The employer completes a referral form & discusses the referral with employee.
The employee provides informed consent for appointment.
OH One complete a thorough consultation with the employee.
A comprehensive report will be provided after the assessment (with consent from the employee).
Does an employee have to be absent from work to be referred to OH One?
No, a referral can be undertaken on all employees where a health condition or suspected health issue has been identified.
What information is on the referral form?
The referral form contains personal contact information for the employee, their manager/HR, job details, absence information, brief outline of the health issue and details of the information required from the assessment. There are standard questions to highlight along with details of any specific questions.
Who gets the report & when?
The report will be sent to the referring manager/HR detailed on the referral form with the informed consent of the employee. The employee has a right to prior sight of the report and will then confirm if this can be released to the employer. Should the employee withhold their consent then the report will not be issued and will be held on record by OH one.
