What is health surveillance?
The HSE describes health surveillance as ‘putting in place systematic, regular and appropriate procedures to detect early signs of work-related ill health among employees exposed to certain health risks and acting on the results’.
For you as an employer this means completing regular health assessments on your workforce where risk has been identified. The assessments should be directly linked to the risks. For example, if there are noise hazards, then your employee should have regular auditory tests.
