Duty of care: HR personnel urged to do more in their pandemic response.
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, there has never been a more critical time for HR personnel and leaders to make the health and wellbeing of employees a priority. As a HR professional and leader myself, I know too well how important it is that we have a duty of care to provide proactive support to our staff.
The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), the professional association for Human Resources Professionals are urging employers to do more!
Recent data produced by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) is showing that depression has doubled during the Covid-19 crisis - a statistic that OH One have seen replicated across our assessments, with 80-90% of our assessments identifying mental health concerns.
From the very beginning of launching OH One we have been determined to promote the most effective health solutions for employers and their organisations. We believe that proactive solutions are the only way that employers can truly support the wellbeing of their staff.
Our wrap around services and packages can be used to tackle current workplace issues and also assist in building a culture of wellbeing for the long-term. Our mental health workshops, health checks, wellbeing assessments and business health consultations are a great way of achieving this.
Whilst the pandemic has pushed wellbeing and health and safety even higher onto the agenda, it has done so at a time of so much change and uncertainty. There is no doubt employers and HR professionals themselves will be feeling lost and under pressure, especially alongside the day to day practical challenges currently facing employers.
Organisations are partnering with OH One to provide much needed Occupational Health support for their people. Our professional support is enabling HR personnel to better support their employees during these challenging times. Not only are we assisting to relieve pressure on valuable resources, but also assisting in building for a better future.
