Oh One supports Occupational Health Awareness Week 2024
Oh One supports Occupational Health Awareness Week 2024 Running from 23 to 29 September this year.
Occupational Health Awareness Week (OHAW) explains what occupational health is and the value it provides to workplace wellbeing. The week is facilitated by the Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM). As a proud provider of occupational health services across the UK and a corporate sponsor of SOM, OH One is delighted to be involved in this important initiative. Our commitment to employee health and wellbeing is at the core of what we do, and we firmly believe in the value of high-quality occupational health services in fostering healthier, more productive workplaces.
The Importance of Occupational Health
Occupational health isn’t just about responding to health issues—it’s about preventing them. OH services help mitigate and manage both long-term and short-term health problems, as well as help organisations take proactive steps to reduce sickness absence, enhance productivity, and create a more resilient workforce.
At OH One, we’ve implemented numerous initiatives to improve the working environment for the businesses we support. For example:
Our mental health strategy and managers training equips leaders with the tools they need to support their teams effectively, creating an open dialogue around mental health in the workplace.
We’ve helped companies reduce sickness absence through proactive employee health assessments, identifying potential risks early and providing tailored solutions to keep staff fit and well at work, or help them return to work faster.
Our DSE assessments for office workers have improved ergonomic setups, reducing musculoskeletal disorders and promoting healthier working environments.
These are just a few ways we’ve helped businesses create a healthier workforce, aligned with our mission to make occupational health services accessible and impactful for everyone.
Resources for Employers and Individuals
SOM has made a range of resources available on their website, providing businesses and individuals with the tools they need to learn more about occupational health, find reputable providers, and access the latest research. Their quarterly magazine is also full of insightful articles and practical advice on how to prioritise health and wellbeing in the workplace.
We encourage other businesses to follow suit and place the wellbeing of their staff at the heart of their operations. After all, a healthy workforce is a productive workforce.
